Lilly at the Mall

We went to the mall today and Lilly had a great time. She loves to look at the pet shop, get a pretzel and check out the cars. She finally rode in a car today and she LOVED it. Check it out below.

She also enjoyed pushing her own stroller. What a silly little girl.

Sunday Walking

So Lilly has finally realized that walking can be better than crawling. She has started actually walking for realsies though she still falls down every once in a while and usually starts crawling after she falls. Here are a couple videos showing her awkward baby walk, I love it.

p.s. What I meant to say in this second video was that she always falls down when walking to Christian. Because she would. She never fell down walking to me but almost every time walking to Dad she would fall. She must like me better :)

Breakfast for Dinner?

Are you hungry? Cause I am. Well, if you are looking for something delicious to eat, try these...

(Click on the picture* for recipe)

Oh my goodness! These are the best pancakes I have ever made. They are definitely my favorite! It's funny because I used to not really like pancakes. I was always a waffle person. But then this last year something changed and I like pancakes. But these are just way better than regular pancakes. Trust me and try them. And don't leave out the orange butter... that makes them go from good to fabulous!

Lilly on her Big Day

So here are so more pictures from Lilly's birthday. She looked super cute but she just wasn't feeling it. She was just too tired from the Zoo and really, really didn't want to eat her cake. If you want to see a few more you can also check out Tove's blog here.

Gingerbread Mansions

We always like to make Gingerbread houses during Christmas time. This year I decided to try and make some gingerbread, instead of using just plain graham crackers. So courtesy of ultimategingerbread.com I found a recipe and some templates for some houses. They didn't seem that big to begin with but I soon realized they were not your average graham cracker houses. We did a "pixie house" which Christian decorated and the "Farmhouse" which I decorated.

We started with all the gingerbread that I baked the day before. We actually made enough for 3 houses but Christian decided he just wanted to eat the last house instead of decorate it (it took forever to decorate just the 2 since they were soo big)

Add about a ton of candy that we bought (way too much of course). What can I say... we got a little carried away.

Getting to work.

Thankfully, Lilly was an ANGEL while we did this. She busied herself with old marshmallows, some formula in a bag, and paper. She did stop for dinner but then continued her play and let us build some houses.

Well, here they are, in all their glory!

First up Christian's "Gummy Bear Mansion of Death... with Snakes" At first it appears innocent, almost pleasant.

Until you see the gory details, that is. The Gummy-Bear-Eating snake.

Gummy Bear crushed to death by a log.

Gummy Bear impaled by a pretzel, um... I mean spear :)

As you can see the entire house is being taken over by some sort of snake vine.

And all the other sides.

And here we have the Farmhouse. I avoided the grim reaper and went for classical gingerbread house. The front.

As you can see the gummies are staring out the window at Santa!

Back. Complete with little kitty running through the snow.

The Mayer Gingerbread village.

And for those of you who made it this far, a reward is in order. A picture of Lilly and Christian this morning before church. Aren't they adorable? I think so too.

The end.

Little Lilly Turns One

Lilly turned one year old last Saturday, November 27th. We were in Houston at Christian's parents for Thanksgiving and celebrated her birthday there.

To start off the day we went and visited Santa. Obviously Lilly does not like strangers.

But she was happy after a little time with Dad and some pancakes.

Next we decided to head to the Houston Zoo since Lilly loves animals. She seemed to enjoy it, often woofing at various animals.
________________________________________________________

Checking out the Tropical Birds with Grandpa.

Lilly inspiserer tropiske fugler sammen med bestefar.

Riding Daddy's shoulders to get a better look.
________________________________________________________

Checking out the foxes.
________________________________________________________

Lilly likte reven.

Riding a turtle :)

Og her rir Lilly på en skildpadde.

After a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner we headed home for birthday cake. Here is the Lilly Shrine on the wall of the kitchen.

Tove pyntet fint for bursdagen hennes.

Her Birthday Banner.

Lillys eget bursdagsbanner.

And her Princess cake.

Her er hennes prinsessekake.

Sadly, I did not get any pictures of Lilly in her pretty pink birthday dress as we tried to convince her to dig in. (I will try to post some, once I get them from Christian's mom) We failed and she did not want ANYTHING to do with her cake. As you can see below I finally cut out a piece for her and she still didn't want to touch it. Later, she did eat some pieces of an unfrosted cupcake so we think it was the frosting that turned her off. But oh well, at least she didn't need a bath afterwards :)
________________________________________________________

Earlier in the week, Lilly received an early birthday present so she could play with it while we were there. Her new doll stroller. She loves it!
________________________________________________________

Checking to make sure her dollie is safe.
________________________________________________________

Hun passer på at dokken er trygg.

So proud.
________________________________________________________

Så stolt. And her "piggy" face. Up close and personal.
________________________________________________________

Lilly says: "Thanks for all the birthday presents!!!" And so do we. She really did love all her presents and loves playing with them all day long.
________________________________________________________

Lilly sier: "Tusen takk for alle bursdagsgavene!!!" Og det sier vi også. Hun elsker virkelig å leke med dem hele tiden.

Yum Yum

Sorry, it has been so long since I've blogged, for those of you that care :)

Anyways, here is a little video of Lilly eating some cottage cheese at dinner. She has become quite enamored with feeding herself lately. Today it got a little messy, especially with a too-big spoon. And don't miss her fun, new face she likes to make; scrunching her face and huffing in and out through her nose...

The Dancing Queen

Lilly loves to dance. When music comes on or even if I just start singing, Lilly will start to dance. Its pretty cute. She mostly just bobs up and down but every once in a while she will sway side to side. Luckily, you get to witness both in this little video. Enjoy.

Silly Lilly

So Lilly is getting quite adventurous these days. Her favorite thing to do right now? Lock herself in rooms. She really enjoys going into a room and proceeding to shut the door behind her. Unfortunately she can't open the door back up. So she then bangs on the door until we open it for her. So far her favorite seems to be our closet. But she has also locked herself in our bedroom, her bedroom, her closet, the bathroom, and the kitchen pantry. She does this at least 3 times a day and I feel like I am always trying to keep the doors shut so she can't do this. Sadly the doors in this apartment only require a push and they are open, which Lilly quickly figured out.

Lilly is also getting quite adept at climbing. So far she has mainly stuck to climbing onto the dishwasher door, but that is enough for me. Before now, she loved to unload the dishwasher as I was loading it but now she has taken it to a new level. She will climb onto the door, then STAND UP, and try to take stuff out of the top rack! Crazy girl.

Our little girl also enjoys climbing into the cabinets on occasion. She has always loved re-organizing our cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen. But this week she decided it looked like a lovely place to sit.

I am getting scared for what is going to come next with this crazy girl! She just looooves to get into trouble.

As for other news, she finally attended her 9 month checkup at the doctors. Let's just say she does NOT like the doctors office. (and I am not talking about the immunizations.)

Anyways, here are her stats:
Weight: 18lbs 4 oz, 20 percentile
Height: 29", 75 percentile
Head size: "It's like an orange on a toothpick!" Just kidding, but really its kinda big, 97 percentile

(p.s. name that movie... "Well, that's a huge noggin. That's a virtual planetoid...Has it's own weather system!" )

And I will leave you with a cute picture of Lilly. This was from our corn maze adventure. I would chase her and she loved it! It produced some pretty big smiles from her, just like this!
