The next 3 years...

Mom, if you are reading this, STOP. now. Just stop reading. It will just make you sad. But here is a cute picture for you before you leave.

Ok. Now you can leave.

For everyone else, it looks as if our fate has been decided.

Yes, this means that we will most likely be heading to Texas Tech Law School this summer. They very nicely offered Christian In-State Tuition, which translates into cheap. At least cheaper than almost anywhere else (besides BYU).

Though I do say maybe. Maybe because we are on the Wait List at BYU. And if at anytime they say yes to us, then we will stay here in Provo and go to BYU Law. Because it is a great school and because it is even cheaper.

Though if BYU does not, we will be heading into the middle of nowhere (aka Lubbock), most likely at the beginning of August. And if you don't believe me, just check out the map below and you will see that yes, Lubbock is the definition of the middle of nowhere. But we have been told that many recruiters come from Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Houston. So that is where we would hope to eventually end up after 3 years in Nowheresville.

And here's another cute picture before you leave. Because let's face it, Lilly is the real reason you check out this blog anyways :)

Not as easy as it looks...

Lilly is always trying to get my water bottle. Apparently she sees me sucking on the straw and she wants to also. So yesterday I let her suck on it. It was pretty funny. She can't really get anything out of the straw. However, every once in a while she would suck long enough to get water to the top of the straw. But she would then immediately stop sucking and the water would dribble out over her chin. She also would stick the straw too far in and gag herself. Silly girl.

p.s. sorry about the spit up at the end :)

Big Girl Bed

Lilly let us know that she wanted a big girl bed when we were at IKEA on Saturday. So we let her try one out. Perfect size, don't you think? Too bad she is just going to have to live with her crib for a while.

Sitting Pretty

Lilly is slowly but surely learning to sit all by herself. She likes to practice in the corner of the couch and also on the ground surrounded by pillows. She does pretty good until she decides that she wants a nearby toy and then either does a face-dive or falls backward or to the side. She is wobbly most of the time and is just learning how to use her arms to hold herself up. The only place where she can sit really good is in your lap, probably because your legs help to stabilize her.

Now we just need to work on the being able to play with toys while sitting.

Growing

Lilly's hair is finally starting to grow instead of just fall out. See proof below. And yes that bow is just barely hanging on, not much hair yet but it is growing.

What else is growing around here? I stepped out our front door the other day (we usually use the back door) and saw these lovelies blooming. Ahh, spring; I love you.

In other news, Lilly also enjoys sucking on pancakes and stealing shoes. And I made some Honey Whole Wheat Bread. And yes the bread was awesome.

As for the shoes, yesterday I went to the bathroom and came back to find Lilly sucking on my sandals. Silly girl.

And the yummy bread.

Time for a laugh

Finally got a recording of Lilly laughing. She started laughing a few days ago, but we never managed to catch in on camera because usually she drops everything she's doing and just stares at the camera whenever she sees it. But not this time...

Napping

Lilly is quite funny. This is how she likes to sleep.

She always needs to have at least one of her lovies with her so she can bury her face in it. I know it scared Grandma, but even if you move it away from her face Lilly will move it right back. There is nothing you can do about it.

I have gotten used to it and just think she looks so funny.

Our Roly Poly

Lilly has decided to become quite the wiggle-worm lately. She rolls over every minute if you aren't playing with her. Which would be fine, if she didn't absolutely hate being on her stomach. So the minute I walk away from her she starts screaming and I come back to find Lilly on her stomach. She even does it in her crib; so sometimes when she wakes up in the night we find her on her stomach.

She has also learned how to wiggle across the room. In the first video below she scooches twice on her back but most of the time she likes to do it all the way across the room and in her crib. Sometimes she scooches herself into a corner and gets stuck and ends up crying.

In other news she can also remove her binky with her hands. However she can only put it back in about 25% of the time.

She also wants to be held a lot. But we figured out that the Snugli will do. So we put her in the baby carrier and she is fine. I even had to decorate Christian's birthday cake while wearing her.

I love this picture. We were going on an early morning walk and it was still very cold outside so I put on one of the only hats that still fits her head. So funny because it kinda squishes her face, and kinda gives a Russian vibe.

Solids

Lilly turned 4 months last Saturday and was given the go-ahead from the doctor for solid foods. So Lilly tried out some rice cereal. Sadly, Lilly is not one of those babies who loved this new food experience.

The first time she at least tolerated the cereal and kept opening her mouth. But this was probably because she was still slightly drugged from the baby Tylenol we gave her for her immunizations. Now she really hates it. I think we'll give her a week or two before trying again.

4 month stats:
height- 24" (25%)
weight- 13 lbs 2 oz (25-50%)
head- 40.8 cm (50%)
