Once Upon A Time...

there was a flock of birds that had just finished a delicious meal of berries. On their way home, they decided to make a rest stop in the Thomas' front yard tree.

While on their way to the tree, something happened. Well, actually a lot of somethings happened (in particular, something that birds don't have control of), leaving a nice, little (and by nice and little, I mean disgusting and big) trail in their dust.

As you can see, they splattered and sprayed the ground and car with their berry-tinted bird poop.

As the birds rested in the tree, Grandpa, Brittany, and Lilly decided to go outside to drop off some items in the car. As Brittany opened the car door, the birds decided it was time to leave and flew off.
Though, they did leave us a present to remember them by. Well, left it for Lilly.

(yes, that is bird poop on her head, though she didn't seem to mind)

Toys

Lilly has finally decided that she likes toys. Mostly to put in her mouth, of course. This is what she looks like most days now.

It's quite funny to watch her, especially when she gets frustrated that she can't get whatever she is holding in her mouth.

p.s. Got this in the mail a little while ago. So cute.

Spring Break

This past week Christian's family came to Provo for Spring Break.

We had quite a bit of fun, though did not take many pictures. Here are a few we managed to capture.

Playing Deal or No Deal at Trafalga for tickets. So fun. My last four cases were the highest and then my last two cases were the two highest! I took the last deal of 150 tickets. Good thing because my case was the 100. (Sidenote: I did come in last at miniature golfing. So sad. I did go first, so that is my excuse. And I got the hole in one on the last hole so I got a free game ticket... booyah)

Eating at Happy Sumo and Lilly playing with the chopstick paper wrapper. Looks like she is talking on the phone

And finally we tried to go to the Crater at the Homestead in Midway. But it was reserved for a bunch of kids. Sad. But we did stop at Deer Creek Reservoir. I have never been to a frozen lake before (even though I have been here in Provo for a while). We had a good time throwing large rocks out onto the ice. p.s. Its harder than you think to try and break the ice.

Now its off to Benicia on Wednesday to visit the other set of Grandparents. Lilly and I are excited!

Our Little Democrat

Apparently Lilly has a thing for Obama. Check out her new leg wear.

Truth be told, we got an postcard/ad in the mail a while ago saying that if you register at jrchamps.com you get a free set of baby leg warmers sent to you in a couple of weeks. The only thing was that you don't get to choose which ones you would like, they randomly choose for you. And it just so happens that they chose to send Obama. Lucky us.

Love

Lilly's Baby Blessing

We blessed Lilly at home on January 1st, 2010 when both Christian's and my families were here in Provo. Here are some photos from that day. Thanks to Ashley for taking these. Now I just need to get the photos with Christian's family!

Jinxed

Whenever I say that Lilly is doing something good, I jinx myself. It has happened too many times and I don't like it. For example, I just blogged about how good Lilly sleeps at night. Yet last night I had to get up about every 20 minutes for an hour or two because Lilly kept freaking out and trying to eat the side of her crib. (I think she is actually looking for her binky but ends up face-planting the bumper.)

Whatever the cause of jinx, I despise it.

Ready for Summer

We are all ready for summer here in the cold land of Provo. Lilly found herself a cute but modest swimsuit. Check her out.

I found myself a cute swimsuit as well. I just ordered this one found at Target.

And I finished this for Lilly's room. Now I just need to figure out where to put it.

3 months

Its hard for me to believe that Lilly is already 3 months old. But she sure is getting bigger everyday. She is sleeping pretty well at this point. I usually only get up once in the night to feed her, sometimes twice. But she always goes right back to sleep. She eats really well, about every four hours. She is even starting to grow out of some of her 3 mo. clothing.

She still hates tummy time. If she does tolerate it, it is only for about 5 minutes then she will start screaming and then crying. And then sometimes she will just go to sleep.

She really loves sucking on her hands. She has become quite adept at sticking her fists or fingers in her mouth, sometime while her binky is still in as well. Sometimes she'll even gag herself with her fingers. If she has one of your fingers in her hand she will even try to bring that to her mouth to suck on.
She also has learned how to use her voice. Sometimes she will be in her crib or on the floor while I am doing something and just start screeching. Once you come back over to her she stops. She even tries to talk with her hands in her mouth sometimes. Its really funny because she sounds like she is saying "gluck gluck gluck". I have yet to be able to capture this on film though.

She has also starting grabbing at her knees. So sometimes that means she'll lift up her dress or pull up her pant legs. She has also noticed her feet and I can tell she wants to grab them but she can't quite reach yet.

Lilly also loves to arch her back. I'm not really sure what she is trying to do but sometimes she does it to look at the tv. I will have her on the floor facing me and she will arch her back until she can see the tv. Apparently she is already hooked.

Lilly has also started drooling and blowing raspberries. Sometimes they can get pretty big. And just look at those chubby cheeks. So cute.

Lilly still loves it when you stick out your tongue and wiggle it at her. She gives me the biggest smiles now but refuses to get them captured on camera. Once you pull the camera out now she becomes all serious and will just stare at it. So smiles on camera on now few and far between. This is the closest thing to a smile we've gotten in a while.

She still has fuzzy monkey toes all the time too. Anything that comes in contact with those toes will cause her to curl up her toes. So when she is in her pjs she comes out with the fuzziest toes. And it is very hard to remove the fuzz since when you try, the toes just curl back up.

She also just loves flying. If she is crying or upset, you can just lift her into the air and she will stop crying and just start looking around at everything. She even gave Ryan a smile when he was over while she was flying. (And normally she doesn't smile at anyone but me or Christian)

Lilly has also has quite an affection for piggy. When trying to fall asleep she will rub her face into piggy to help herself fall asleep.

Lilly is so wonderful to have around. We love her so much!

Phone Pics

Lilly sometimes tries to grab her own head but ends up just scratching herself.
She also has begun to start grabbing at her birdie that is attached to her carseat.
I think this picture is so funny. And I love how the flower is bigger than her head.
She also loves to sleep with piggy.
