Christmas in California

I'll start with the trip to California. We drove a rental so we wouldn't die in the mountains. We had to drive through 2 storms but it wasn't too bad. We did enjoy the car, though it ended up pretty dirty. Definitely not as bad as the return drive (which took 15 hours).

In California, we realized how wild my parents backyard has become since Shelby died. Apparently he kept away all the animals. Here was a baby deer.

There were also a lot of squirrels, birds, etc. One robin even committed suicide by flying into my sister's bedroom window. There were even feathers stuck to the window afterwards.

Here's the delicious pies I made for Christmas.

You should really try this Caramel Pecan Silk Supreme pie. It's amazing.

After Christmas, we took a trip to the Exploratorium in San Francisco. It was pretty fun though really crowded with kids. We still enjoyed ourselves though.

My sister Ashley and her husband Brodie.

After the Exploratorium and a trip to In-N-Out, we decided to take the route out of San Francisco that happened to lead us straight into a "Free Palestine" rally. In the end, it took us about an hour to just get to the freeway. Here is the road block we got stuck in.

Christian, Ashley, and Brodie decided to get out of the car and see what was going on.

Here's a video Christian took when they went to see what was going on. It was so random that we happened to run into this.
